Decorating the wares in colours, late 18th century

This picture shows a porcelain enamelling workshop in Jingdezhen. After decoration, the porcelain would be transported either to Beijing or Canton. It is interesting to observe another East-meets-West interaction: an old man on the left is wearing Western spectacles and painting a porcelain piece.
