Helmuth Oberhauser was one of the most significant artists of the Saarland in the second half of the 20th century thanks to his paintings and graphic illustrations. He underwent training at Prof. Boros Kleint in Saarbrücken and Paris from 1948 to 1953. In the 1950s, he primarily created drawings as well as woodcuts and linocuts, which dealt with subjects from the world of industry, particularly the everyday lives of miners. These works are part of the "Heimat" series, which most recently exhibited at the Schlösschen in Losheim am See in May of 2012.
