Detail of the 17th century door surmounted by the emblem of Pope Urban VIII Barberini

In the first half of the 17th century, during the pontificate of Urban VIII Barberini, the space of the chapel reserved for the pope was separated from the presbytery by a two-leaf lattice door painted in imitation marble, surmounted by the Barberini emblem. The door, later removed and restored in 2006, is currently repositioned.
