Black Satin Waist Belt Pouch with Hidden Patterns of Eight Auspicious Treasures Details

A combination of seed stitches and stringed thread stitches were used for the motifs of eight auspicious treasures on this pouch while chain stitches used for the hem. In seed stitches, the crafters usually make a loop around the needle tip after beginning a stitch and then pull the loop all the way to the fabric and meanwhile pulling the needle to the opposite direction and fix the loop onto the fabric by passing the needle across the fabric, creating seed-like dots on the embroidery target, hence the name. White stringed threads stitches were adopted to fix the outlines of patterns, making the embroidery abrasion-resistant and meanwhile giving it more structure.
