Dholki or Nal is a folk drum, similar to a Dholak but with a longer and a slimmer body. This instrument is popular in the tamasha or street performance of Maharashtra, bhajans, Lavani, kirtans and dhun. This is primarily a folk instrument as it lacks exact tuning and playing techniques of Tabla and Pakhawaj and is used for high-pitched music.
