The diadem, from a tomb, is composed of 31 elements joined with a string like the beads of a necklace, elongated ribbed pieces alternating with discoid pieces with radial grooves. The centrepiece is in the form of a Herculean knot, decorated with plant motifs created by filigree and knurling. In the centre of the knot is a palmette created à jour, while at the extremities there are hooks made of twisted wire, from which hang four chains on each side with ovoid pendants with vertical fluting. A bronze rod behind the knot was for attaching other elements. The shape and size of the diadem elements are reminiscent of those found on coeval necklaces. The Herculean knot motif, of eastern-Greek origin and widespread in Hellenism, can be seen as having a propitiatory function.
