A "Diagonal section" by Marcius Galan is composed of basic elements common to architecture: walls, ceiling, floor, paint, light and wax. The artist uses all of these materials with the aim of creating an illusion. Upon entering the room we tend to think that there is a glass dividing it, creating an empty display case. When we come closer to it, however, we understand that our eyes were deceived, since it is a painting in the space. A feeling of sensorial uncanniness sets in. In a certain way, the work is an invitation to intervention, it beckons for us to touch the work, to test its materiality. Here the sculpture is an illusion created based on the codes of architecture, and of art spaces.
