Frida and Diego married on the 21st of August in 1929. Without a doubt, it was one of the most important events in Kahlo’s life, personally and artistically, since it contributed to the development of her painting. Rivera was Frida’s greatest love; letters, poems, and portraits attest to this, including the double self-portraits she made, half Frida, half Diego, and, at the same time, rolled into one.
