For 25 years during the latter half of the 20th century, the Ricketts family always spent the week of July 4th on vacation in Canada. Years earlier, grandfather George Hall discovered a resort on a beautiful lake called Mississagagon in Frontenac County. Owned by an American couple, the resort featured housekeeping cottages and the "American plan," which included some meals. Boats, motors and fishing gear were available, and there was space for camping as well. Relatives and friends often joined them. In 1970, mother Pearl purchased matching orange shirts for the whole family and their friend Shirley Sandford, always ready with the latest camera, called them together fo a quick snapshot. The family treasured their shared vacations and often recalled them with photographs like this.
