This Nabeshima-ware dish has a characteristically tall foot. The sumi-hajiki (ink resist) technique was used to create the seigaiha style wave design of overlapping arches of concentric circles in the interior, upon which seven jars are arrayed, in blue, celadon green, white, crackle, and clouds with a fret pattern, also produced with sumi-hajiki. The blue and green hues of the jars against the background wave design is refreshingly cool. The underside of the dish has shippo-tsunagi (interlocking circle) arabesques in three sections and a comb pattern around the foot.
