A large Faenza (Casa Pirota) dated Istoriato Berretino dish, the centre with various phases of the myth of the Rape of Europa. In the foreground the nymph is about to bestride the white bull with a companion and a recumbent cow. A haired-haired man with a staff is looking to the left, and in the centre the bull is departing across the sea. There are buildings on distant mountains in blue and white, and the berretino surround with cherub's heads, dolphins and foliage. The reverse is in blue on blue and yellow. There are san Bernardino rays and a border of alla porcellana foliage.
