Distant view of the ISS as OV-104 makes its initial approach during STS-106

S106-E-5052 (10 September 2000) --- The International Space Station (ISS) is now in the view of the crew aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis as evidenced in this electronic image. The markings in the photo are those of the Crew Optical Alignment Sight (COAS), an instrument used routinely for docking maneuvers.
The last time astronauts saw the ISS,
it was not sporting the recently-arriving Progress, which
appears at the top in this perspective.
Also, a Proton had earlier delivered the
Zvezda service module to the station since the last human visit.
