The coins of Muhammad XII, called Boabdil in the Christian chronicles, were the last Islamic issues in the Iberian Peninsula. His turbulent reign ended in 1492 with the conquest of the Kingdom of Granada by the Crown of Castile. Minted in great quantities, the Nasrid doblas were used for the intense foreign trade and for paying frequent tributes to the Christian kingdoms. However, coins of this monarch are extremely rare.
