Jumeau dolls of the late 19th century represent a perfect combination of doll-making technology and consumer demand for high-quality, stylish, elegant dolls. Jumeau mastered new methods of marketing, advertising, and production and applied them to doll manufacture. Jumeau b퀌�b퀌�s were considered the pinnacle of the French doll trade, and these dolls were sought after all over the world for their beautiful faces and their exquisite clothing. This particular doll, a "Tete Jumeau," bears the name on the back of its head. Jumeau patented the name in 1886.
