Peg-jointed doll made of pine wood. The torso is bound with ecru cotton cloth, and the head, neck, shoulders and outer limbs are coated with gesso, cream-coloured paint and varnish. The facial features are carved and painted to give black eyes, rosy cheeks and red lips; the smooth black painted hair has tendrils in grisaille around the forehead and ears. The arms are jointed at the elbow and shoulders and have mitten-shaped hands; the legs are jointed at the knee and the feet are painted with red slippers. The doll wears false pantalettes of white lawn: a tube of fabric tied to each leg, and finishing in two frills above the ankle. Her other clothes consist of a waist petticoat of white cotton with two horizontal tucks above the hem; a high-waisted front fastening dress of dove grey silk with a gauged bodice embroidered with pink stitching at the neck and cuffs, and with three horizontal tucks above the hem; a white lawn fichu; a pink ribbon sash; a dove grey silk poke bonnet trimmed with pink ribbon; and a short necklace of turquoise-coloured beads.
