Half-body portrait of the singer Domenico Conti, dressed as the main character of the Opera "Il Bravo" by Saverio Mercadante (1795-1870).

During his stay in Lisbon, Conti participated in several operas at the Real Teatro de São Carlos. He premiered the opera "Il Bravo" on June 29, 1841. In the same year he performed a duet with Luigi Ferretti, in a solidarity concert, for the benefit of the victims of an earthquake registered in Vila da Praia, in Terceira Island, Azores.

According to information available at the bottom margin, the engraving was offered by some of Conti's admirers.
