Doña Lorenza "The Jealous Old Man" (interlude) "Eight Comedies and Eight New Interludes"

Cañizares, the extremely jealous husband of Doña Lorenza, a young and beautiful woman, gives her everything she could wish for: jewellery, clothes, whims; but she is a poor rich woman because he is a rotten, jealous old man. But their neighbour, Ortigosa, devises a plan. She promises to find Doña Lorenza a young lover who will keep the secret. She assures Lorenza she will smuggle him into her bedroom and out again, despite the jealous old man’s thousand eyes and the seven locked doors.
