Paul says: "Tom's initiative hit exactly the right spot with me at the start of the pandemic. It felt absolutely necessary to do something positive with the utterly useless skill of being able to paint people's faces. You can't fight a virus with oil painting, but you can do a tiny bit to show love, respect and support for those who are. Dr Duggan was approaching 70 at the time of the portrait, and still working hard for his patients on the front line as a GP in spite of the fact he forms a part of the demographic most at risk. It was a pleasure to be hooked up to do his portrait by his daughter Emily, another Doctor, and who like another three members of their family was also serving in the NHS during the pandemic."

Michael says: "I was absolutely blown away when I opened the parcel containing my portrait. It arrived on my 70th birthday and my family and I were so moved by it’s haunting accuracy and character. I retire this year after 40 years in the NHS and to receive such a wonderful personal tribute is very touching and special. I feel lucky to have been paired with such a talented artist, he has captured my essence in the painting and this is something my children will treasure for years to come. Thank you Paul, I look forward to meeting you."
