This costume was designed by Director Peter Brook for his 1955 production of Titus Andronicus. The dress was worn by Vivien Leigh, playing the character of Lavinia. It is a full-length, fitted bronze dress with shoulder straps and a low-cut bodice. The dress is pleated from neckline to hem with gold braid around the waist and under the bust leading up to a heart shaped brooch in the centre front. The dress was worn underneath a robe and shawl.
