Real Fossil - Late Devonian 360 Mya - Morocco
One of the largest of the armored placoderms, Dunkleosteus was the apex predator of its time, reaching lengths of 33 feet. Of the known extant and extinct animals, this animal has one of the strongest bit forces ever at 11,000 pounds (80,000 pounds per square inch at the tip of the jaws). Living with contemporaries such as Titanichthys and other heavily armored fish, these jaws were used to cut its prey in half with one swift bite.
