A .5m to 3m evergreen perennial shrub of East Africa, particularly of Kenya. Also grows as a woody herb. Leaves are small and hairy. Flowers are showy and white or mauve in colour. Fruit is a dry capsule, 18mm to 30mm long, which splits open to release the seeds. Distribution: All regions of Kenya. Occurs in dry bushlands or woodlands and wooded grasslands. Use: Ornamental
