Ear ornament with snakes and stepped designs with volutes ML100001

These gold ear ornaments are part of a set also composed by a frontal headdress. This set shows the feline, bird, and snake trilogy, the three sacred animals of ancient Peru. Estas orejeras de oro forman parte de un conjunto de adornos compuesto también por un adorno frontal. En este conjunto se aprecia la trilogía felino, ave, serpiente, los tres animales sagrados del antiguo Perú, y muestra el supremo poder que los grandes señores tenían en el pasado. El disco de las orejeras presenta el motivo del escalonado con voluta y los colgantes tienen forma de serpientes. (UH)
