Originally born to a family of sake producers, Hayashi Jikko was later adopted by the Hayashi family. Unfortunately, not much is much is known about his artistic training. Many of his works depict unique themes, and his free and lively style brushstrokes create an especially distinctive aspect among the Kanto nanga style.
