Eight-panel Folding Screen of Flowering Plants and Birds

UnknownLate 19th century - Early 20th century

Horim Museum

Horim Museum
Seoul, South Korea

This is an eclectic folding screen featuring various conventional themes. Fish on the third panel represent affluence and the human figure playing a flute while riding a crane, seems to be a combination of a flute player and a crane, each from different paintings. The way that the rocks are depicted and the decorations in each of the four corners of the panels are particularly interesting.
