Unlike other embroidery works, the main objective of embroidered folding screens is for admiration, with a picturesque appearance. This particular folding is a sipgok (ten-curve) folding screen with an embroidery of gold-colored thread on a black satin background. It shows the convex patterns used in the Han dynasty, and the auspicious patterns frequently depicted on the top and bottom. The embroidery technique that was applied is diagonal satin stitch using twisted thread.
