Beijing, China

This work of embroidery was created using an advanced needlepoint technique (called nasha) and features a piece called The Peach Blossom Spring (Taohua yuan ji) by Tao Yuanming (ca. 365–427) of the Eastern Jin dynasty (317– 420). The needlework is highly detailed with a smooth finish. Each figure and animal is vividly depicted. As a masterpiece among this type of embroidered works, the scene conjures the tranquil beauty of an otherworldly paradise.
