Emperor Sunjong’s Commemorative Medal

This medal was made to celebrate the ascension of Emperor Sunjong to the throne in 1907. The front side of the medal displays the Emperor's helmet which is part of his military uniform, on large plum blossom petals while the back has an inscription of “Korean Empire, His Majesty the Emperor, Enthronement Ceremony, Commemorative Medal, August 27, Yunghui Year.”
