Like other contemporary versions, the telegraphers sit in this telegraph hall at ordinary tables. On the table are the Morse keys, relief pens, and galvanoscopes, and under each table is a box of batteries. The electrical wires were temporarily routed through the window. In contrast to this, the room’s fireplace, stucco, carpet, and paintings make a homely impression.
