Engrossed (I)

Nyemike Onwuka's style draws inspiration from the deep connection between beauty and decomposition and his passion for storytelling and communication of human feelings. Women feature prominently in most series of his works. His use of light, shade and rustic colours endow his paintings with strong narrative elements. Engrossed (I) shows a smiling woman who appears to be consumed with the thoughts of love and happiness and can't help her feelings.
