National Museum of Archaeology

National Museum of Archaeology
Lisboa, Portugal

A funerary plaque in white marble with an epitaph written by a Bishop from the Algarve. A similar plaque was found in Córdova and is displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Seville. The plaque was created during the Peninsula's Islamic Almoasnor period and calls to Christians to pray for a deceased Christian leader. Also of importance is the mention of passing the year 1.000 AD - the era of Caesar.
