Spindle whorls serve as weight and wheel for the spindle, which was used for producing yarn since the Neolithic period. Loom weights hung on the warp thread of a vertical loom. Weaving tablets give evidence of complex textile manufacturing. Narrow, colourful braids and applications with patterns could be produced with the tablet weaving technique.
