Bantu Beer: Municipalities legally monopolize production and sale of this brew; profits are high. In Government beer halls (where women are not allowed), it is dispensed automatically from huge vats; in city bottle stores, it is sold in closed cartons. Africans may not drink in city bars, but may buy beer to drink on the sidewalk
