The Cross of Liberty was established to honor people for their services during the Estonian War of Independence in 1919. It was conferred only until 1925. It is the highest decoration of the Republic of Estonia, conferred in three grades, each in three classes.
The cross was designed by the Estonian artist Nikolai Triik.
