Ettore Martini

LUIGI FRONI1958/1959

Collezione Fondazione Cariparma

Collezione Fondazione Cariparma
Parma, Italy

The mask, created between 1958 and 1959, portrays Ettore Martini (Piacenza 1870-1960), a person engaged for almost fifty years in the public administration both in Piacenza and Parma. The portrait, a bronze mask with smiling expression, well underlined expression lines and eyes completed with pupils, is strongly characterized in its physiognomic features, accentuated by a cordial expression. It is a further and effective proof of the path that sees Luigi Froni engaged in a new field of investigation, which is expressed through the creation of a series of "masks", among the most original works of the sculptor, rich and complex.
