Evening dress with form-fitted halter neck bodice and a wide calf-length skirt. The dress closes with a zipper in the back. The accompanying jacket in blazer model has a distinct waist and 3/4 length sleeves. The collar is lined with burgundy velvet and the jacket is buttoned center front with small oval buttons in black who also decorates cuffs. The matching belt is leather lined with burgundy fabric is very narrow and has a small rectangular buckle that is so covered with fabric. This type of short evening dress was new in the 1950s and quickly became a popular garment.
