A bias cut gown of black crepe backed satin with sheer leaf and rose patterned lace cap sleeves and back neck flounce. Front of gown: V-neck; multiple rows of gathers at shoulders; surplice bodice seaming; three diagonal fitting darts at the proper right waistline following angle of surplice seaming; two tiers of diagonally oriented ruffles at the proper left side of skirt above a deep gathered bottom flounce. Back of dress: deep rounded V-neckline with attached satin and lace flounce that extends to the waistline; self fabric belt across back waist; top skirt ruffle from front transitions into a long angled gathered flounce that extends to the floor in back; the bottom skirt flounce does not encircle the skirt entirely; both side edges of the flounce remain open at the proper right side back; short ruffles are seamed diagonally across the bottom of each side of the open flounce, forming a short train at the back of the dress. There is a side waist opening with metal snap fasteners at the proper left.
