Exercise I (monument)

This is a series of five oil and pencil works on boards, Woodyard directly depicts odd wood chunks and bits of studio ephemera yet manages to transform each static scene into a psychadelic ode to woodliness.Each painting has a seductively fleshy palette with a soft geometric style with close attention paid to the wood piece's grain patterns while using strange shifts of perspective to pull th viewers gaze around the work.
