At the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia, Expedition 38/39 Soyuz Commander Mikhail Tyurin (center) is assisted by a technician as he dons protective booties for the start of final qualification simulation exams Oct. 17, 2013. Tyurin is joined by his crewmates, Flight Engineer Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (left) and NASA Flight Engineer Rick Mastracchio (right). The trio is scheduled to launch on Nov. 7, local time, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on the Soyuz TMA-11M spacecraft for a six-month mission on the International Space Station.
