'Variomatic' does not revolve around a renewal, but instead reveals some "old school" Hans van Manen characteristics; a game of movements in which smooth lines and humor come together on the serenade for strings by Lennox Berkeley (1939). This ballet is named after a brand of projectors, which is able to automatically switch slides.
