Atlantic Ocean. Speed has become a synonym for efficiency and for the future. Once all the processes
of consumption, thinking, socialising, politics and religion have been speeded up,
the human brain is no longer able to put such complexity in order and feels lost
in the instantaneousness of life.
Slow down, slow down… Life isn’t a hashtag. “What will you be remembered for?”
The flag is a constantly moving advertising banner. A constant flow of QR codes linked
to websites for information and for political, religious and social movements, where updates
on controversial issues are constantly being published. The reader is disoriented when faced
with a constant barrage of ideas and counter-ideas, and loses his way in all the complexity,
ending up in a state of chronic uncertainty.
The object is a little tombstone to remind viewers that they cannot live solely for speed,
but that they need to slow down if they are to deal with the problems and opportunities
of life.
