There is a plan of an unrealized proposal that features a façade for the Virtudes manor-house. The document dates from the second half of the 18th century and was designed by the architect José Francisco de Paiva (1744-1824). This project favoured a neoclassical language that can be identified in the rusticated apparatus of nearby buildings, such as the Santo António Hospital, the Carrancas Palace, the Relação Prision and the Polytechnic Academy (currently the Rectory of the University of Porto).
