Feather bundle

Miniature human and animal figurines composed of high-value gold, silver, or Spondylus shell are often found archaeologically associated with sacrifices of male and female juveniles in a ritual known as capacocha (qhapac hucha). Some capacocha offerings also include small feathered bags, such as this red and yellow example. The bags may contain coca leaves, maize kernels, or the recently cut human hair of the juveniles themselves.
