The hoard find of a drinking service from Fejø contains a Frankish silver cup and four small Scandinavian cups. The Frankish cup was made in southern Germany or Austria at the end of the eighth century. It would have been used for liturgical ceremonies. The decoration consists of two friezes, each with six arches. The arches rest on columns between which one sees Christian symbols: the eagle, the dove and the lion. The decoration shows a round building in two storeys, with columns resting on rectangular ashlars. The building is a symbolic representation of the Heavenly Jerusalem as described in the Revelation of St. John
