Female terracotta head, made from a mould, with the hair gathered at the back and embellished with a diadem; the pierced earlobes suggest the original presence of earrings. It is probably the remains of a terracotta funerary statue, a heroic representation of the deceased, on whom the diadem conferred high status. However, it cannot be excluded that some sculptures of this kind were intended for sacred purposes, as in other Italic examples.
