Fernando Caldeira was born in Borralha (Palace of Borralha) on November 7, 1841.
Son of Francisco Caldeira Leitão Pinto de Albuquerque de Brito Moniz (1st Viscount of Borralha) and Lady Inês de Vera Geraldes de Melo Sampaio e Bourbon.
He was a writer, poet and playwright, and the patron of the Escola EB 2/3 of Águeda.
He was educated in the values of traditional nobility, and known as a gentleman.
Law Bachelor by the Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra in 1861.
Nobleman of the Royal House by family right, was not indifferent to the political movements of the time, getting young in politics and elected deputy between 1865-1868 and 1880-1884.
He served as Civil Governor of Aveiro in 1870. He worked as a journalist for the newspaper "Diário da Manhã" and "Tempo".
It was undoubtedly a great man of letters.
He wrote among other works " O Sapatinho de Cetim " a comedy, represented at the Teatro da Trindade. After this work written several including: “A Varina”, “Os Missionários”, A Chinela”, As Nadadoras”, “A Mosca” e “O Burro do Sr. Alcaide”.
As a lyric poet has just published a book in 1882, “Mocidades”.
He died on April 2, 1894.

The portrait was executed by Christiano Vicente Leal, painter, portrait painter and photographer, was born in 1841 and died in 1911.
His father was a servant of King Carlos. Having lived in Albergaria-a-Velha. He had atelier in Albergaria-a-Velha and Porto.
He was the author of dozens of portraits scattered throughout the districts of Aveiro, Porto, Viseu and Guarda.
