A female figure in the middle of a green maguey, with a dark background.
Almaráz was an artist deeply related to the last years of mexiacan muralism. This is one of his earliest works.
Fertility is subject repeated use by Almaráz on easels and murals always represented by a woman. In this painting, the woman's earings and hair ornaments are a reminiscent of prehispanic times; they turn that woman into Mayahuel, the mexica goddess of the maguey among other adjudications. She is always depicted growing from the plant.
