During the whole span of his career, Crocetti has always been fascinated by animals’ anatomy: particularly, the artist has been able to study wild beasts during his youth in Rome, when he started to visit often the capital’s zoo; to this experience we must add the attendance, documented by the sculptor’s diaries, of the “Great Sneider Circus”, set up back in 1931 in Piazza dei Prati Strozzi, in the Flaminio district, where the artist lived during his early years in Rome.
