"A Greek statue of a woman, representing a godess that could originally been Demeter, although the Punic world associated it to Astarte or Tanit.
The woman is wearing a cylindrical tiara or small kalathos on her head, on a hairstyle with two plaits, one on each side of her head.
She is also wearing a tunic and veil, which stand out for their detailed folds. The woman has gathered her tunic in her left hand and is holding it to her waist; her right arm is bent and her hand is on her chest. The statue shows remains of red and white polychrome.
The figure was imported to Ibiza but it originally came from the Aegean Islands as it is considered to be from the Boeotian School, even though similar pieces were also produced in Rhodes and Attica. It would be a clear example of contact between cultures and the assimilation of Greek aesthetics with Punic gods."
