"Made mostly assembling thrown pieces , Hanuman has thick, heavy legs, like pipes, a body which is more delicate than the legs and a tail curving upwards. The tail is held by a support made on the back. The mouth is wide open revealing huge front teeth. The figure has a crown on the head, earrings and a moustache. Pellets of clay form a garland at the neck. The lips of the figure are thick and the eyes have been pierced with a pointed stick. The Hanuman has holes in its legs for wheels. The figure is kept on the roofs of houses to ward off the evil eye. "From Form and Many Forms of Mother Clay by Haku Shah.( pg: 160 )"
