Toronto, Canada

This fanged Yogini holding the implements of the craftsman, is a magestic figure part of a dispersed set of goddessed that occupied a temple in the Tamil region of southern India. Her mighty limbs and subtle details were sculpted to teach that creation and destruction are not as different from each other as they may seem. This goddess supervises both nuture and annihilation, resolving the dualities within her own divine body. She embodies the yogic ideal through a body that is at once mighty and at ease.
